As a little girl, Sam always loved to draw. Born and raised in Georgia, Sam would show off her artwork to her parents, who enjoyed watching her draw and encouraged her to expand on her abilities. From coloring between the lines in a coloring book with crayons to designing her own mini-comics with a pen, Sam had a medium of some kind in her hands.
In the beginning, Sam only drew animals; later, she tried drawing people and then the environment around them. She found that drawing, even something small, helped her relax and reset. Sam knew from the start that she wanted to create breathtaking pictures and stories for the rest of her career. Sam loves to bring narratives to life with colorful pictures and lovable characters, guiding readers through the story in a fun way.
When Sam isn't sketching out a new piece of work, she loves to read a good book, write her own stories, or sing songs she knows by heart. You will normally find her in one of two places. One would be at her church, making drinks in the Cafe, singing on stage, serving for the children's ministry, or behind the scenes in production. The other location being at home with her family, having fun and being with each other. Wherever she is, her family isn't far behind.
Sam's talent will be showcased alongside her brother Sean's in the pages of the upcoming children's book "When Two Homes Feel Like One" by breakout children's author Tra Battle.
When Two Homes Feel Like One: A Journey Through Divorce by Tra Battle, is a touching book that gently guides families through the emotional journey of divorce.
Through the eyes of young Sarah, readers experience the challenges and discoveries of living in two homes. This story reassures children that, despite the changes, the love of both parents remains constant.
Skillfully illustrated and thoughtfully written, this book serves as both a comforting tale and a practical tool for families to discuss difficult emotions. Ideal for shared reading, it includes conversation starters to help children express their feelings and find reassurance during a time of transition.
When Two Homes Feel Like One is the first in a five-part series set in the close-knit community of Battle Creek, where every story highlights the idea that it takes a village to support one another through life's challenges.
