Publishing Paths › Submissions
We're selective — and we move carefully. Here's everything you need to know about submitting your work to InkWell.
InkWell publishes a small number of books each year by design. We sign authors whose stories align deeply with our mission and invest fully in every book we take on. That means we move carefully and deliberately — and our submissions are often closed.
The best way to stay connected and get on our radar when we do open is to start with a free conversation. We'd love to get to know you and your work before submissions open.
Book a free conversationGenre matters less to us than purpose. We're drawn to work that is honest, intentional, and has the potential to move someone.
Stories that heal, challenge, unite, or spark meaningful conversation. If your book has something to say, we want to hear it.
We actively seek perspectives that traditional publishing has overlooked. Your story and your point of view matter here.
Your manuscript doesn't have to be perfect — but you need to care deeply about making it the best version of itself.
Submitting your work takes courage. Here's exactly what to expect from us when submissions are open.
Submit your completed or near-complete manuscript with a brief description of your story and a little about yourself. No formal query letter — just tell us about your work in your own words.
Every submission gets a real read from a real person. You'll hear back from us — typically within four to six weeks.
If we see potential, we reach out for a conversation before anything else. We want to know you, not just your manuscript.
If it's a fit, InkWell invests in bringing your book to life. Editing, design, production, launch — we partner on all of it. You never write a check to publish with us.
Start with a free conversation. No commitment, no agenda — we'll help you figure out your next step regardless of where you are in your journey.
